Used to have an old rusty John Deere that sat in the lower pasture. Couple times a year some collector would show up and offer magnanimously to haul the eyesore away, Righty-o. My kids had too much fun playing on it, and the steers took a great deal of pleasure from using it as a scratching-post.
There was also an ancient manure spreader that lived back in the woods. A very large cottonwood tree had grown right out of the center of the thing, and i planted species primula around the wheels.
