How does farm equipment go over crops and things without smashing them?

I need to know for robotics in school. Plz answer. thx… i’ll answer ur questoins if you want

    Fields are planted to allow space for the wheels to move without rolling over the crops. Exception would be wheat and other grains in which the field is not cultivated during the growing season. The harvesters/combines are brought in at harvest and tred behind the crop being harvested.
